How can I find out what prison my old roommate is in?

I just found out that one of my old roommates was arrested and plead guilty to child charges. He lived in Reno when it happened. I want to send him a letter to express my disappointment and disgust, but I don't know where he is. Is there a way to look up a prisoner to find out where they are?
