Can accountants change their career to computer programmer, computer specialists or system ysts ?

I am confused i am studying as accountant but want to change my career to computers coz i think i am good in computers n i like working with computers but don't now if accountants can change their career to computers and get some exemptions with their degree because while studying for accounting we cover an awfull lot of material like computer theory and pratical so i think there should be exemptions for accounting people for computer degrees but i want advice that if there is or its just my thinking ........
